Film enthusiasts are encouraged to host their own pop-up film festival for ReelOzInd! 2023

After a two-year hiatus, the ReelOzInd! Australia-Indonesia short film festival made a successful return to pop-up format last year with a response described as “fabulous” by organisers.
Almost 20 pop-up events were hosted in both countries last year, bringing together Australian and Indonesian audiences through cinema.
The theme for this year’s event is ‘quest’ or ‘pencarian’, a concept sure to resonate with audiences.
Festival director Jemma Purdey said they were full of enthusiasm ahead of the event.
“This year, our goal is to continue this incredible momentum and bring the festival to as many people as we can,” Purdey said.
Hosting a pop-up screening couldn’t be easier.
Organisers of a pop-up film festival have the freedom to select a date that suits within the festival period, starting with the Premieres in Melbourne and Yogyakarta on 19 October and continuing to 21 December.
The venue? Well, that’s entirely up to you – whether it’s your school, university, community hall, office, or a park, the choice is yours. In the world of pop-ups, all gatherings, big or small, are celebrated.
